Puppy Update

Yesterday Bo's diarrhea continued so we decided to take him in to our real vet. After some fecal exams the doc determined that he has a bacterial infection and we needed to start him on a different antibiotic then what the first Vet gave us, and he sent us home with some bland food (Hill's Prescription i/d) that wouldn't upset his tummy. We put him to bed last night with hopes he would be better in the morning.

I woke up last night and for the first time he hadn't pooped in his kennel, and this morning he wouldn't eat or drink, and was super lethargic so we decided to take him back to the vet. The vet checked him over and we left him there for an IV to get him some fluids.

After sleeping for a few hours to prepare for our graveyard shifts at work we went and pick up the baby Bo. The pup looked so much better with the extra fluids in him, and the vet got him to eat some. The vet sent us home with some Hill's Prescription a/d which is another bland food but it doesn't have any chunks in it. He also sent us home with a syringe and said if he stopped eating again we could mix the food with water and squirt it in his mouth.

Now we've been home for about an hour and he has played like a normal puppy, eaten an entire small can of food, pooped, and peed. YAY!!!! Soon we will give him his 3rd dose of his meds and hopefully he will snap out of his funk soon.
